Adalaj Scarf - Cream / Red
About 30 minutes outside of Ahmedabad, Gujarat India is the Adalaj Stepwell or Rudabai Stepwell.
The heat of the day fades away as you walk down the steps. This was a long lost summer retreat for royalty and a place for water gathering. Located in the middle of a small village, sacred cows cross the streets with casual disregard.
We walked through these winding streets filled with life and color. Locals poking their heads out of doors. Not many tourists in this area, and I surely would have gotten lost if it wasn’t for my friend. She takes us inside an unassuming home, and I gasp as my eyes adjust and on every wall, from floor to ceiling are layers upon layers of scarves and fabric. I reach out and touch EVERYTHING!
How I only brought a few of these scarves back is amazing. This scarf is hand printed and dyed, the fabric is a soft silk as such the pattern can only be seen on one side.
Slightly shimmery, it feels like butter against your skin and it runs through your fingers like water. This scarf will keep you warm in winter and looking cool in summer.
Regal beauty and grace the Adalaj Scarf will dress up jeans and a t-shirt or make that LBD even more elegant. You will feel like a Rani.
